Welcome to the Winter Wonderland Blog Hop hosted by Scraps by Gracie
Today’s hop is filled with winter (not holiday) themed projects. We hope they warm your heart on these cold winter days. We have a winter storm on the way, so it’ll be a winter wonderland here very soon.
Today’s hop sponsored by:
Catherine is giving away a class of the winner’s choice from her great offerings at Creativity Grows Here. I’ve taken some of her classes and have learned so much…you’re gonna love this prize! To enter the drawing just leave a comment on each of the blogs in today’s hop. EZ-PZ
The winner will be announced on Scraps by Gracie’s blog on Saturday, 1/30/16, so don’t forget to check back.
Now to the projects! You should have arrived here from my hop buddy Haidee’s blog.
When I close my eyes and think of a winter wonderland, I always see a peaceful woodland settings. So that’s the direction I went for this hop. My first project is a gazebo in the woods…wouldn’t you just love to happen upon this on a winter’s walk?
And here it is with a battery operated tea light inside.
This was made with a Tina Fallon cut file purchased through CraftsUPrint and was quite the project but it was a made as a Christmas present for my StampNation Secret Sistah, Kristie so it just had to be special. All the details can be found in the gallery; if you click on the image, it’ll take you there.
Then I just had to make this Bendi Card from Dreaming Tree. I made one of the cards in the Christmas Bendi Card Bundle previously and enjoyed making it so much I wanted to do another. If you haven’t tried a Dreaming Tree cut file yet, don’t hesitate. The quality of their cut files is great and they have extremely helpful assembly tutorial videos for each card. I sure wouldn’t mind living in this Winter Wonderland.
I have full details in the gallery, if you want to more about supplies and assembly or see additional pictures.
Next up is a shadow box with one of my favorite winter sights when I look out the window on a blanket of white and see that bright red of a cardinal. No wonder it’s a favorite on so many holiday cards. I read that a cardinal is representative of a loved one who has passed. When you see one, it means they are visiting you…I choose to believe this is true.
This project came together very easily with a cut file by A Little Hut purchased in the Silhouette Design Store. I wasn’t thrilled with the way this file was made, but it looked okay when it was fully assembled.
That’s it for me. Up next is the talented Lisa’s blog.
