Time to Retire

After 35 years on the job, it’s time to retire for George; so I was asked to make a card worthy of that milestone.  I was given a list of memories by the person asking me to make the card.  The list was so rich in details of the events he remembered, I actually used it in the card.  I appropriately call the card, “Remembering”. Here’s what I made:

Remembering 2

Yup, another exploding box card.  Let me show you the inside, too.

Remembering 3

Each of the four sides has job related embellishments and each pocket contains one of the memories shared with me.  If you click on the card, it will take you to the gallery so you can see what’s in the individual pockets along with products I used.  Most embellishments came from the Silhouette Design Store.

I also want to mention I stumbled upon an origami box fold tutorial which happens to work perfectly as a lid for an exploding box, which is what I used here.  I added the link on my Hints, Tips & Tutorials page in the event to want to try making it yourself.

So now George is living the life of a retired gentleman, with his little dog, Roxy, and his sporty black Corvette!  I think I could handle that, don’t you?

Before I go, I want to extend a warm welcome to Carey and Jennifer.  I’m so happy to see you are now following my blog and hope I bring you content that will inspire or at least entertain.  If there’s anything in particular you’d like to see, just give a shout.  Starting in January, I will be participating in monthly technique blog hops….I’m really looking forward to sharing what I know (and what I don’t in some cases) in the coming months.
