The Colors of Autumn

While I feel blessed to live in an area where we have four seasons, Autumn is my very favorite.

First, there’s that  crisp chill in the air that’s just exhilarating.  And the colors, oh my, the reds, oranges, yellows and golds are so beautiful.  Then there are the smells of Autumn…or at least the smells I associates with it, cinnamon, cloves, roasted turkey (oh yes, I drool when I smell that).  I can’t fail to mention how much I love Halloween and Thanksgiving.

So, now that you’ve heard me wax poetic about Autumn, you’ll understand why I wanted to participate in  Connie Can Crop’s Monthly Challenge #38.  This month it’s a color challenge…all the colors of autumn.  Here is the inspiration piece Connie has provided us:

I hope you clicked on the link to see what the Design Team has created and all the other fabulous challenge submissions.  Here is the card I’m submitting.  I purchased a card kit years ago from Gina K Designs and finally pulled it out….the card stock is just yummy and so is the ribbon.  The stamped images are from Club Scrap from another near ancient kit.  What I love about this challenge is that the winner is picked at random, so it’s about your sharing and not about your talent.  It’s much less intimidating than challenges where your submission is judged against others.  Wish me luck because it’s a great prize!

If you want to see a few more Autumn themed cards, here’s a link to an older post or you can go to the gallery.

Card makers out there, why not consider participating in this challenge.  Here’s the link again just in case you want to try it.  I hope to see you over there!

Autumn is my favorite season! I love your beautiful leaves backed by that wonderful embossed background! What a sensational design, Kim!

    • Kim&Katy says:

Mine, too, as I mentioned. I picked that background because I thought it was perfect for this, but I actually think the name of the folder is Mistletoe…I’m mixing my seasons!

Thanks for your kind words about my card.

Hi Kim, thank you for entering your very beautiful card at Connie Can Crop. I love the embossed background and the great stamping job you did. I love it.

    • Kim&Katy says:

Thanks Vicky! I think I’m going to be a frequent flyer at Connie’s challenges because I like sharing my work without worrying if it will measure up. The fact that the winner is picked at random makes it fun, not stressful for me.

How delightful! Your card is the perfect Fall card! I, too, love the ‘feel’ of a real Autumn with the nip in the air, the crunch of leaves, the burst of every warm color on the leaves – just like your card! It’s beautiful! (sadly, here we get summer x4, all year, LOL!) Lovely card, my friend!

    • Kim&Katy says:

Thanks, Kelly, for stopping by and leaving me a comment. You have Autumn described perfectly. Humm, I don’t think I could do summer all year long, but I would prefer that to winter all year long! I don’t like temperature extremes on either end…I’ll take Autumn all year through!
