Before I begin, I want to welcome my newest follower, YMCollins. Thank you so much for subscribing. You are now entered in my card bundle give-away when I reach 100 e-mail followers. I’m starting to work on putting that bundle together now as we’re only 20 away.
It’s Paper Crafting World post day! I post twice a month as a design team member and enjoy and appreciate the opportunity.
The card base is made from Cherry Cobbler card stock. The digital paper comes from the Ho Ho Ho Kit by NitWit Collections. I made the label using a cut file purchased in the Silhouette store. I used Lucida Handwriting and Times New Roman fonts to create the greeting; trying to match it to the sentiment inside and accented it with three Candy Dots (retired SU). Wink of Stella coats all the frosting and candy…just like the real thing but with no calories.
Now here’s the business end of this card:
I watched this video to learn how to make this fold. From the measurements given, I created a cut file which I’m happy to share if you’d like it…just let me know in the comments section. I sized the gingerbread couples to fit in the squares.
Using the same label cut file, I inserted a Stampin’ Up digital stamp, colored to match the components of the card.
I wanted to share a tip on attaching the panel inside. I placed the bottom half of the panel exactly where I wanted it and, with double-sided tape on the top, I closed the card over on it. Then I flipped it over and attached the other half. Perfect alignment! BUT, when I opened up the card, I discovered too much tension on the folds. The card still works, but next time I make one I will attach the inside while the card is open, flat. Here you can see the problem:
I’ll share two more Paper Crafting World cards next month. Yup, I’m continuing on as a DT member for PCW into the new year…happy about that!
