It’s the first of the month which means it’s time for another challenge at Connie Can Crop. This month the challenge theme is, “Stamp Your Heart Out” where you can create anything you want, but be sure to include a stamped image somewhere on your project.
Our sponsor this month is RubyMartha of Fun Stampers Journey who will give one luck winner, picked at random, a gift certificate.
I decided take the challenge literally and include a heart as well…I actually stamped IN the heart.
The big buckle card has been around for a l-o-n-g time, but I’m just getting around to making one now. I didn’t follow any sort of tutorial; I just created a cut file by welding a heart shape to one side of a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ rectangle and the buckle piece to the other. I cut it from a 12″ x 12″ sheet of Real Red card stock. Here’s a picture of the template. It’s also on the Hints, Tips & Tutorials page.
I cut the heart (with the slot for the buckle) for the focal image from water-color paper as I knew I wanted to use markers and an aqua painter to color this cute Sheepdog & Hydrant stamp by Whipper Snapper Designs. It looked a bit plain when I placed it on the base, so I pulled out some lace trim and ran it around the back of the water-color paper before attaching.
The exposed corner of the panel was the perfect spot for the sentiment, which I color matched to the card base. Inside, the rest of the sentiment:
