A warm welcome goes out to two new e-mail subscribers. Thank you to innessmc, jlockthree. Also someone from networked blogs is now following, but the names are not in chronological order, so I don’t know who you are…I’m so sorry I can’t give you a shout out, but I’m sure glad you’re here.
As I wanted the colors to be soft and subtle, so I opted to water-color with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I tapped the ink pads on an acrylic block and picked up the color with a brush. I also spritzed the water-color paper with water before applying color.
Behind the shaker, I colored another piece of card stock with a slightly darker green for contrast. To set the shaker window off, I attached the butterfly outline cut from Regal Rose card stock and embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder. I used my new favorite adhesive for shakers, the Foam Strips by Stampin’ Up.
The shaker contents are adorable Flat Backed Resin Flowers from Eyelet Outlet. It appears these are sold out, but they have other flowers which are just as pretty. Here’s a closer look at the flowers:
Inside the card, I used a sentiment I found on Pinterest and typed it with the Alex Brush font in green. As an accent, I took the outline of the butterfly, converted it to print only in the same Regal Rose color as the card base.
A simple card, but a nice way to wish someone a happy spring! Don’t forget to check out Paper Crafting World‘s cut files and printables. There’s a sale right now…if you spend $10.00, you get 50% off by using the code provided. Half price! I like that!
