Sending Love at The Cutting Cafe

For our challenge today, The Cutting Cafe Design Team is using the Fun With Silhouettes printable stamp set and cut file.  This set has 66, yes that many, printable images and 36 cut files; so it was quite difficult to decide which I wanted to use.

Finally I opted to use the airplane and paired it with a clip art globe for my card and coordinating gift tag:

I cut the airplane five times and stacked the layers to make it thicker; like chipboard.  The top layer has a heart shape cut into which I inserted a heart of Real Red card stock.

The globe was free clip art which I turned into a cut file.  I simply cut a circle of Marina Mist and then traced the “land” and cut that from Garden Green, both Stampin’ Up card stocks.  I embossed the blue with the Seaside embossing folder and the green with Square Lattice.  There was a bit too much texture!  So, I put the layers together and then ran it through the Big Shot again between the two plates and some shims to give just the illusion of texture.  Using the World Traveler, I traced the longitude and latitude lines with a stylus.  To finish, I coated the heart and water with Wink of Stella and added a dab of Glossy Accents on the heart.  After I assembled the card, I realized I needed a little something more on the front, so I added the white mat.

Sending Love 2

Inside, a short and sweet sentiment with three more hearts.

Sending Love 4

I did the same thing with the gift tag; layering for thickness and adding a heart on the top layer.

Thanks, Regina! I was initially overwhelmed at the choices you offered in this cut file set. But I’m happy with my choice!

I'd love to hear from you. I so appreciate your comments!
