 Now to My Projects
Here’s my first card which uses a cut file from the Wet & Wild Kit from SVGCuts.  I used a number of digital papers here from the Deep Blue Sea Kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs and Marina Mist, Rose Red and Whisper White card stock by Stampin’ Up…always my first choice for card stock.

Fin-tastic wm 1

You can see more pictures in the gallery if you click on the card, but I did want to share with you the surprise fold with this card.  The sample card shows the greeting on the front.  I didn’t want to cover up all those sea treasures and the back seemed so empty, so I decided to place the greeting there.

Fin-tastic wm 5

Next up is a card I really like, though I’m not quite sure how I’d mail it.  I made it using a cut file by Daniela Moscone purchased in the Silhouette store.  The top of the card is designed to open.  Instead, I secured it with dimensionals and placed the greeting inside the pearl and the sentiment on the back.

Precious as a Pearl wm 1

When you open the shell, you find the greeting…and a pearl!  I found the saying in a search on-line and I think it’s most fitting.  You can see more pictures by clicking on the card, but if you don’t want to do that, I’ll share the back says, “That’s my friendship with you.”

Precious as a Pearl wm 3

And here’s a card which employs acetate to provide a peek inside where the image has been created.  I ran the acetate through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder to give it a watery look.  The images inside were all created digitally with the By the Sea set by Stampin’ Up.  I sure do miss My Digital Studio.  If you’d like to make a card similar to this, there’s a tutorial and template on the Hints, Tips & Tutorials page.  Look for “By the Tide”.

Well, that’s all for me today…time to swim off to my blogging buddy, Holli.  I’ve seen a sneak peek, so I know you’re gonna like what she has in store for you.

And here’s the full line-up in case you become lost at sea:

I also submitted one or more cards to the following challenge:

  1. Everything is beautiful Kim! What type of printer do you have? Your digi paper came out great! Thanks for sharing

    • Kim&Katy says:

Angela, I have an HP Wide Format printer. Nothing special and if you saw the paper up close you wouldn’t be as impressed. I have a real problem with colors not being true…what I see on my computer screen is not what comes out of the printer. I was told there is a way to calibrate a printer for truer color, but I never did check into that.

I just love all of your SVG cards- always!!! I cannot ever imagine making fun cards like that- once I leave my job end of this month, will get the Silhouette turned on and get cranking with attempts to figure it out!!! I have only cut out simple shapes- plus one more project….a while back. Love everything- but gotta say, the pearl in the oyster is my fav!!!

    • Kim&Katy says:

I love that card, too! And it was so simple. When you dust the Silhouette off, I’m only too happy to help you out! It take a bit of patience at first!

  8. Waterfully wonderful!!! Ok. I’m out of the loop… What happened to My Digital Studio? Whatever happened to it, you did fantastic without it. I L-O-V-E the pearl card. Clean!!! As for mailing it, Anna Griffin has some really great “box” envelopes for all of those 3D and massively embellished cards. It’ll just cost a little extra in postage. Great hopping with you.

    • Kim&Katy says:

That was Stampin’ Up’s Digital Program. They discontinued selling digital images several years ago. I can still use what I purchased, but I would love to have their newer products in digital as well. I will definitely look into the box envelopes you mention, thanks!

  9. great cards as per usual! I am especially fond of the last one but they are all fantastic!!

Thanks, Amanda. It really sets it off nicely, I agree. It’s actually DSP cut down to look like ribbon.
