Picnic at Challenge Up Your Life

Today brings another Challenge Up Your Life challenge.  This week the theme is food/treats.  If you’d like to join the challenge, just click here.

And here’s the card I made in honor of the occasion:

Picnic wm 2

I don’t know about you, but I love picnics.  I haven’t been on one in a very long time, though, and this card is making me want to pack a basket right now.

The card is part of a kit by SVGCuts…they’ve got some great card-in-a-box cut files.  I cut the base from Crumb Cake card stock and the balance was either print and cut or cut from scraps…I’ve got lots of scraps, so I’m always glad when I can use them.

The grapes were made using the Red Jewel Bling Sheet from Eyelet Outlet.  I wanted to make them a bit darker, so I coated them with a dark red Copic marker.  And the flower centers are small pearls, also from Eyelet Outlet, are colored with a yellow Copic marker.  Finishing touches include a bow on the basket handle and Wink of Stella on the wine.

And here’s another look down into the box, so you can see the inserts.  Now that I look at it again, I think this picnic basket could do with a plate of cheese right there next to the wine.  There’s room for it and it would certainly pair well with the wine and grapes, don’t you think.

Once again I want to remind you to check in on the challenge and link up for food/treats themed project…and good luck!

Great card and I really like how you made the grapes. I had decided I would do box cards next year for my church family, so I bought a couple of the sets from SVGcuts. Great to see an example of one.

  2. Great job on this card, Kim. It’s amazing and, well, you know how I feel about wine 😉

I'd love to hear from you. I so appreciate your comments!
