This month’s Miss Kate Cuttables the theme is Anything Goes!
Before I share my cards, though, I want to remind you Miss Kate offers a free cut file every day. To get yours, just click here…but don’t forget to come back!
I’ve been asked a few times how to get the most out of the cut files, so I decided to challenge myself by using the same cut file to create three unique looks.
Here’s the trio I made using the Cardinal file. I love to look out the window on a snowy winter’s day to see a cardinal. So beautiful. I hope my cards do justice to the cardinals in my yard.
From left to right, I created a card with inlaid pieces, the middle is a slide card and the right is a shaker. Here’s a closer look at each of the cards. Additional pictures of each can be found in the gallery; just click on each card.
Rather than cut the branch, I printed it on the decorative panel. I cut the outline for the cardinal and then inserted each of the cut pieces. To finish, I used a Marvy Snow Marker and Glossy Accents as well as Shimmer Spritz over all.
For this card, I used a Lori Whitlock sliding card cut file for the base. I traced the cardinal and branch in my Silhouette and welded the outline to the front panel. Then I placed my individually cut pieces on top.
I used a snow globe cut file for the base of this card. I converted the cut file to print only, flipped it to face the opposite direction and added a few more branches to fill the area. The shaker is filled with Stampin’ Up’s Mica Flakes and snowflakes.
