Miss Kate Cuttables Challenge-Anything Goes

This month’s Miss Kate Cuttables the theme is Anything Goes!

Before I share my cards, though, I want to remind you Miss Kate offers a free cut file every day.  To get yours, just click here…but don’t forget to come back!

I’ve been asked a few times how to get the most out of the cut files, so I decided to challenge myself by using the same cut file to create three unique looks.

Here’s the trio I made using the Cardinal file.  I love to look out the window on a snowy winter’s day to see a cardinal.  So beautiful.  I hope my cards do justice to the cardinals in my yard.

From left to right, I created a card with inlaid pieces, the middle is a slide card and the right is a shaker.  Here’s a closer look at each of the cards.  Additional pictures of each can be found in the gallery; just click on each card.

Cold Winter Days wm 2

Rather than cut the branch, I printed it on the decorative panel.  I cut the outline for the cardinal and then inserted each of the cut pieces.  To finish, I used a Marvy Snow Marker and Glossy Accents as well as Shimmer Spritz over all.

Warm Thoughts wm 3

For this card, I used a Lori Whitlock sliding card cut file for the base.  I traced the cardinal and branch in my Silhouette and welded the outline to the front panel.  Then I placed my individually cut pieces on top.

Beauty of the Season wm 4

I used a snow globe cut file for the base of this card.  I converted the cut file to print only, flipped it to face the opposite direction and added a few more branches to fill the area.  The shaker is filled with Stampin’ Up’s Mica Flakes and snowflakes.

So now it’s your turn to enter the challenge at Miss Kate’s Facebook Group.  The requirements for the challenge is to follow the theme of the month and use a Miss Kate Cuttable’s file in your creation, including any/all freebies you have.  The challenge will run from today through the 4th Tuesday of each month.  Winners will be announced, in the group, Friday of challenge end week.  Remember this month’s it’s anything goes.  Good luck!
See you next month with another Miss Kate’s challenge.   In the meantime, I’d like to welcome my newest followers; Carey, Denise, Karen and Pamela.  I’m so happy and thankful you’ve subscribed.  You are now entered in a card bundle give-away when I reach 100 e-mail followers.

Those are all great ideas. I love seeing the same cut file for all kinds of projects since that is what we are trying to do over on CADC with stamps this month. It really does make you start to think differently, especially if you have one thing in mind when you purchase the cut (or stamp).
