Welcome to the Last Minute Gifts Blog Hop:
We’ve got some awesome ideas today to create those last-minute holiday gifts. Each of us bloggers has one or more great ideas for fabulous, easy gifts that can be created at the last-minute for those holiday gift giving opportunities.
You may want to create a few of them to have on hand in your “Gift Closet.” Doesn’t everyone have a gift closet full of gifts ready to give?
We just can’t have a hop about gifts and not give a few away, so be sure to hop to and comment on each of the blogs by Wednesday 12/30/15.
Theresa at ScrapsByGracie will choose 5 winners. That’s right; FIVE!
One will receive a class of their choice from today’s hop sponsor
One will receive this Authentique Paper Set.
One will receive this Graphic 45 Paper Set.
One will receive this great card starter pack.
One will receive this Authentique Card Creator Set
So, if you don’t hop and comment on each blog, you better not cry and you better not pout if you don’t win one of these fabulous prizes!
Now on with the projects!
When I think of last-minute gifts, my mind goes first to those little incidental gifts you give to acquaintances, and folks like your favorite cashier, a helpful sales person and such. Nothing expensive, just a little something to take them by surprise and let them know you appreciate them.
My first project is a cute little carrier for hand sanitizer…but, since it’s for the holidays, I took a few liberties and called it a “Hand Santa-tizer”.
I made it using a Silhouette cut file which was designed for a Bath & Body Shop version of the hand-sanitizer and I made quite a few of them, but when I went to buy them….they CHANGED THE BOTTLE STYLE. I had a few of the old bottles left, so I used them; but I designed a new version myself for the new bottle. Since this is my own design, I’m sharing it with you on the Hints, Tips & Tutorials page. The Santa head and label are Silhouette cut files as well, so I can’t share them.
Then we have a package of Tic Tacs “dressed in holiday style. In the air there’s a feeling of breath mints.” Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself.
This was made from a Silhouette cut file, but it is super simple to make. I’ve provided a quick tutorial in the gallery, just click on the image.
Next is a simple and inexpensive gift using the EOS lip balm to help keep everyone’s lips moist during the cold winter. I got these in a 5 pack at Costco for a reasonable price.
Another a Silhouette cut file was used here, but you could use any sort of die you have so long as you’re able to put a 1 1/2″ hole in the center, through which you can place the EOS.
Next, there are the neighbors you don’t know well but want to maintain a friendly relationship with. Again, nothing expensive and easy to put together. Each year I try to come up with something new. Thank you Pinterest for this year’s project:
There’s not much to this, but I do have the free printable sentiment on my Hints, Tips & Tutorials page if you’d like it. I have it in several colors for you in the hopes of matching a variety of wrapping papers.
Lastly, there are the crafty projects I reserve as hostess gifts or those I stash away for the, “oops, she just handed me a gift and I didn’t get her anything” moments.
A few years ago for a Christmas swap I received a Diffuser and it was love at first sniff. It came from Pier 1 Imports, so I decided to get a few as inexpensive gifts to keep on hand. Then they were about $12.00 and were much larger…since then they’ve gone up in price as they’ve reduced in size, so I decided to investigate making my own and discovered it’s actually quite easy to do. I have the recipe on the Hints, Tips & Tutorials page. I wanted to share a picture of a container and reeds I bought at A C Moore at under $4.00 for both of them. You just need to buy corks to seal it.
I have a few more ideas I wanted to share with you, but I know you have to get to the next blog on the hop. There’s always next year…and I’ve already signed up to participate in the Scraps by Gracie’s Last Minute Gift Ideas for next December…it’ll be here before you know it!
Thanks for hopping by today, don’t forget to leave a comment to be entered into the drawing for the 5 great prizes.
Next up is the talented Jessica! Hurry off and see what she has to share with you!
