You should have arrived from my fellow DT sister Sue’s blog.  If you just happened upon this spectacular hop, Connie Can Crop is the first stop in this hop.

And now to my projects:

Here’s a card-in-a-box with all the components for a great garden…nothing better than home-grown vegetables!

Love & Laughter wm 1

The card base, from Lori Whitlock cut file, is cut from Apricot Appeal card stock as it was a great match to the digital patterned paper from the Spring Garden Kit by Peppermint Creative.  All the pieces on the insert were color matched to the patterned paper as well.  For dimension, I embossed the mats with Spring Flowers and Spring Leaves embossing folders.

You can see additional pictures of this card in the gallery by clicking on it, but I did want to share another picture here to share a plan I have for this card.   I allowed some additional space between the front of the card and the first insert to attach a little clear bag with seeds…I thought it would be a nice touch.  I didn’t have any seeds to do this before the hop, but here’s a similar idea.

Love & Laughter wm 4

I thought I would give flowers equal time with this next card.  It was made with the Tulip Card Set cut file from The Cutting Cafe.

Springtime Smiles wm 1

I used Confetti White card stock for the fence as it reminds me of a whitewashed garden gate.  The flowers and butterfly were filled with patterned paper from the All Heart Kit by Melissa Bennett.  The fence opens and the sky panel opens to reveal this sweet sentiment inside.

Springtime Smiles wm 4For my last card, I tried a CAS design from a free cut file I found at Bird’s Cards.  She has an entire section of free files, if you want to take a look.  As much as I like clean and simple card, I’m just not good at making them.   When I’m finished, I always want to do something more.

Bloomin' Beautiful wm 1

I do love the concept of this card.  The base includes the outline of the flower on the edge.  On top, just the outline.  Sandwiched between is a sheet of vellum, colored with Copic markers.  As I mentioned, it was a struggle to leave the card this way…I thought about dry embossing the bottom (stem) part of the vellum for texture.  Wink of Stella on the white petals would have been pretty.  And yellow Prills would have finished the center off nicely.  As you can see, I refrained!

If you click on the images, it will take you to the gallery where more pictures of each card can be found.

UP next is Marji, another of my DT sisters.  I know she’ll have something wonderful for you!
