Hello, Pumpkin

I joined in the Stamp of the Month Challenge hosted by From the Heart Stamps and here’s how this clever challenge works:

Each month, a new a digital stamp is featured and everyone who enters the challenge does so using that same stamp in their own unique way.   Just for entering the challenge, you receive the next month’s featured image, free.  Everyone wins!

So here’s the image for September:

And here’s the card I made.

I'd Pick You 1

I decided this cute l’il girl needed and accordion card to show her off.  I printed her and the sentiment on water-color paper and cut the shapes (as well as the rest of the card) with my Silhouette Cameo.  She’s been colored with Copics to coordinate with the colors in Stampin’ Up’s “Sweater Weather” patterned paper.  I added several different ribbons and a wooden embellishment as a corner accent.  I scanned the patterned paper into the computer and inserted it into the “I’d Pick You” portion of the sentiment to tie it into the paper.

I’m very interested to see what each card designer did with this sweet image.  If you’d like to take a peek, here’s the link again.

You are an amazing talent! Oh my gosh!

Well, coming from you I consider that quite a compliment! Remember, I’m the lucky recipient of those hand crafted Christmas and birthday presents you make, so I know how talented YOU are!

Your coloring is on point Kim. Your little autumn girl is stinkin’ adorable and so is your card design! Wow, a card with all those moveable parts! It’s been forever since I’ve tried anything ambitious and now with some free time, you may have just inspired me. Wishing you loads of luck in this challenge! Your card creation and talent is always tops!

You’re so sweet, Ching, but I still have so much to learn when it comes to coloring with Copics. Fortunately, there’s a wealth of information on Pinterest. I want to start researching that a bit more. Free time is always good for crafting. I haven’t had much myself, but the first thing I want to do is check out that link you provided me to see what I can do with our blog line-up on WordPress. I really appreciate your kind words.

Kim, I was poking around on the site and I’m thrilled to pieces that it’s the site with those adorable chicks I loved. Definitely have bookmarked it this time so I don’t lose track of it again. Maybe I’ll play along in future rounds. I’m not much of a digi stamp gal because I’m lazy. I realize it’s easy with resizing and printing it out. But at the end of the day, I’m too lazy to want to do all of that. lol

        • Kim&Katy says:

Aren’t they the cutest? I like many of their designs, but those birdbrains are definitely my favorite! Oh, I would love it if you joined me in the future challenges. It funny, I actually started using digi stamps because I was too lazy to pull out the stamps, the ink, the paper and hope I got a crisp, clean image. Often I will stamp images from my stamps, scan them into my computer and use them as digital stamps, Fortunately, there’s plenty of both and we can keep busy any way we want!

Beautiful card, Kim. The coloring is lovely, and moveable parts too! Well done.

  4. Shelly Schmidt says:

What a sweet card- I love the accordion card, and your coloring is wonderful! The ribbons are too sweet and so is your green leaf accent.

    • Kim&Katy says:

Thanks, Shelly. Those ribbons drove me crazy. I had them in just about every corner of the card and nothing seemed right. Still not thrilled, but this was the best of the worst.

  5. Imke says:

What a sweet card and your coloring and DP choice fits so nicely with this little autumn Girl.

Thanks for visiting, Imke, and for the nice compliments. I LOVE your challenge…what other challenge out there gives you the image each month??

  6. Kelly S says:

Well goodness, I not only bought this last week but just colored it up last night, lol! I used to play in this challenge for awhile then ‘life’ took over 😉
Now my card wont’ look half as gorgeous as yours, but I’ll give it a try! This is a beauty, Kim!

    • Kim&Katy says:

Kelly, I’ve seen your work so I know it will be beautiful. But the beauty of this challenge is that it doesn’t have to be the best…it’s all about sharing. I know…life gets in the way sometimes, doesn’t it? The nerve! See you over at From the Heart Stamps!
