Today I’m sharing my design team project for Connie Can Crop. I made a card and gift/bag tag using products sent to us by our sponsor, RubyMartha of Fun Stampers Journey who generously sent each DT member a packet of goodies to use this month. If you’d like any information on FSJ, you can e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
I found making a project this way to be quite interesting and a little nerve-wracking. I decided to get a bit creative with a few of the things she sent so I was sending up a little prayer that everything would go as I planned as I only had one of each thing. Whew, it all turned out just like I planned it! Don’t you love when that happens? So, let me show you what I made:
In our packet, we got a card base and two mats; one with the Lovely Day stamped image on it. Also in the package was a doily, twine, pearls and a clothes pin. I sat and looked at everything for a while trying to figure out what I wanted to do.
I cut the card base into the 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel you see on the front. Using my Spellbinders Scalloped Circle and Label dies to cut it after placing the doily on top, holding it in place with removable tape…holding my breath while I cut. Before attaching the doily to the card front, I embossed it with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I cut a slightly smaller circle from the second panel and attached that under the pink for a peek-a-boo effect. Finishing touches were the pearls, which I colored with a Copic marker and a sweet little twine bow.
I colored the image with Copic markers and placed that and the greeting directly on the card base of Very Vanilla. The top panel was raised using Stampin’ Up’s Foam Adhesive Strips.
I created the panel for inside the card using the Channel font as that was the closest match to the stamped greeting. That leftover piece of the card base didn’t go to waste as I used it as a mat.
So…I had those pieces I cut from the card front and didn’t want them to go to waste, so I made a tag to accompany the card. I took a piece of scrap and covered the top of the clothespin and attached it to the top with a twine bow. The extra twine was placed under the flowers which I fussy cut and then popped on top with dimensionals.
Here’s one last look at the pair from a slightly different angle.
Before I go, I want to remind you about the monthly challenge at Connie Can Crop. The theme this month is, “Stamp Your Heart Out”. You can make any project you want so long as it has a stamped on it somewhere. One winner, picked at random, will receive a gift certificate.
