It’s a Guy Thing at Connie Can Crop

The challenge this month at Connie Can Crop is “It’s a Guy Thing”, so anything for guys (of all ages) will work.  Our sponsor this month is Sasayaki Glitter, so I decided to use one of her adorable images for my challenge project.   I picked the Shy Pilot digi image for my card.

Card in a box card made for "It's a Guy Thing" challenge at Connie Can Crop 6/1/17

A card-in-a-box seemed like a great backdrop for him, so I started with a cut file by Lori Whitlock.  I changed almost everything, but it was a good starting point.  To create the front insert, I imported and sized the digi image.  Then I traced him and welded him to the insert.  Here’s a closer look at this little cutie:

For the second insert, I stacked clouds to accompany his high-flying adventure.  I added some with dimensionals for a layered look.   If I had to do it over again, I would have spread them out a bit to make them more visible.  Here they are from another angle:

And here’s the back.  I took my color cues for the greeting and sentiment (and the card base) from the Get Going digital paper kit from the now defunct My Digital Studio.

Now it’s your turn to enter Connie’s monthly challenge.  Remember it’s any guy related project.  If you’d like to link up or get more information, just click here.  One lucky entry will be picked at random and will win a prize from our sponsor.  The team will also pick our favorite three projects and, if that’s you, you’ll get a badge for your blog or social media plus bragging rights.

Really cute card in a box, great papers!!

  2. Denise Sayers says:

I love box cards and since my husband and son are both pilots, I am drawn to the subject of the card and the paper. I have a lot of plane/pilot type things in my stash, so this would be a great one for me to C.A.S.E.

Planes must be really popular because everybody seems to be coming out with plane stamp sets.

  3. You did an amazing job Kim, as usual! Just love your card!

I'd love to hear from you. I so appreciate your comments!
