Corner Focus

“Nobody puts baby in the corner.” Dirty Dancing

That’s the quote used to kick off our weekly challenge over at StampNation.  Well, even if baby doesn’t belong in the corner, we have been challenged to shift our focus to the corners of cards; hence the name, “Corner Focus”.  The challenge has been arranged for us by Maureen Merritt of Mamma Mo Stamps and this is the image she provided as inspiration:

attachmentHere are my challenge entries.  I knew the card I wanted to submit, but I couldn’t decide which stamp set I wanted to use; so what the heck, I submitted both:

Although you can’t tell from the picture, behind the heart is a window sheet/acetate the size of the card…so the greeting plays off the window sheet, “Clear to see”.  Get it?  Gosh, how clever.  The stamp set is Just Next to You by Penny Black.  I stamped it on water-color paper I got at a local craft store.  Card stock, ink and ribbon are from Stampin’ Up.

This is a slightly different version of the same card base.  Gone is the window sheet, but I created a large buckle.  Lace instead of ribbon.  This cute stamp is from Whipper Snapper and it’s called…bet you’d never guess…Sheepdog and Hydrant.

Clicking on the cards will take you to the gallery for additional images.

There are no winners in this challenge, it’s designed simply to inspire and, appropriately, “challenge” to you try something you may not have tried previously.  It’s a lot of fun at StampNation.  I’m so glad I subscribed as I’m learning something new every day.

I'd love to hear from you. I so appreciate your comments!
