Bugaboo Stamps Sketch Saturday

Well, duh!  I created this card to enter in the challenge I mention below and then scheduled it to post…but somehow I scheduled it for November 1st rather than October 1st.  So I would have been about a month late!  But I still wanted to share the card with you…at least I have a good excuse for not winning the challenge!

Sketch Saturday holds a new challenge every…you guessed it…Saturday!  I wonder if that’s a coincidence, LOL

Here’s the sketch they provided for us this week:

380

The challenge rules state you can rotate the sketch and you can resize the elements if you want to, but you shouldn’t move the elements around too much, as long as the original sketch layout can be recognized then I’m good.  When I looked at this sketch, I immediately thought of a pocket card, so my elements are in the same place but some in the pocket and some out.

Since the challenge was hosted by Bugaboo Digi Stamps, I decided to use one of their digital images as I have more than a fair amount of them.  I divided the image and placed hubby, Gus, inside who has the perfect come-back to Stella’s comment on the front.  I used my trusty Silhouette to trace around the images and cut them as well as all the other card components.  This was my first attempt at water-color pencils and I have to admit I have a lot of work to do if I want to master this technique.
Wish me luck in the challenge…if I’m selected, I win 7 Bugaboo digital images.  That’s exciting!
For those of you with dogs, I want to make you aware of a dog food recall.  Here’s the information if you happen to be using this food OC Raw Dog Food Recall of September 2015.  If you would like to receive these recall notifications directly to your e-mail, you can do that here.

  1. Very cute card! Ingenious idea to use a pocket theme. I need to find a Stampin Up Saturday Challenge as I’d hate to jump in and use SU on a Bugaboo Challenge. LOL.
