Aged to Purr-fection

Aged to Purr-fection sort of describes this post as well as the card…I was all set to share this when I participated in the National Cat Day Blog Hop back in October, but on a whim I submitted it to an on-line craft magazine and, lo and behold, they accepted it for publication.  I had to agree not to show it anywhere else for two months, December 1st.  Well, it’s December 2nd, so without further ado…

This card was a real labor of love for a very special relative celebrating a milestone birthday and who also happens to be, you guessed it, a cat lover.  While these exploding box cards are labor intensive, they have such a wow factor, it’s worth the time involved in making them when you see the reaction to receiving them.  I mentioned in a previous post, the video I found when I made my first exploding box card was very hard to follow.  I’ve found a new video by Dawn’s Inspirations which makes construction of this card so much easier and she has allowed me to share it with you here.

The patterned paper and many of the embellishments came from the Me-Wow kit through NitWit Collections.  Sorry I don’t have any idea where I got the remaining embellishments as I’ve had them for years and am just getting around to using them.  If you want to see the rest of the card (and I sure hope you do), just click on the image and it will take you to my gallery.  For those of you who don’t like to link to the gallery…here’s another picture of the card, opened:

Well, I’m so glad I finally got to share this card with you.  Hope you enjoyed reading what advice these cats had for the birthday boy.

That wraps it up for today.  Hope the rest of your day is…wait for it…PURR-fect!

  3. That was a labor of love! Looks like it was a time intensive project as well. I love the paper bow on the top. Purr-fect 🙂
