A Year of Card Techniques-Stamp Set Showdown

Welcome to A Year of Card Techniques Blog Hop where each month we’ll feature a different card technique. We’ve assembled a team of fabulous card makers who range from new to advanced, so you’ll see a wide variety of cards and ideas.
The month of April features a Showdown! A stamp set showdown, that is. We’re using one stamp set in various ways. Let’s face it, stamp sets are getting more and more expensive; so we’re here to inspire you by demonstrating how to s-t-r-e-t-c-h those stamps! If you would like to check out our past technique hops, you can do that here:
We have an amazing sponsor this month, Wilma Payne of Fun Stamper’s Journey:

Please take a moment to check out the great products Fun Stampers Journey has to offer. To visit Wilma’s blog, click here and her Facebook Group here.
And the awesome prize this month is:
We really appreciate feedback, so please leave a comment on each of the blogs in the hop today. One winner will be chosen from all comments on the hop as of April 25, 2017. The winner will be announced in our May hop; so be sure to come back next month.
You should have arrived here from Claudia‘s blog. If you’re visiting here first, you might want to start at the beginning so you don’t miss a thing and increase your chances to win by leaving a comment on each blog.

Now to my projects:

The stamp set I elected to use is “Beautiful You” by Stampin’ Up.    This set is appropriately named as both the images and sentiments are beautiful.

I wanted to make one card with each image.  On the first, I used paper piecing…actually it’s Coloring Book Washi from Eyelet Outlet with some other goodies from EO, too.  I’ll share more about these in a future post.

Celebrate 2 wm 1

Next is a technique I shared last year in one of our technique hops, layered acetate, and was eager to try again.

Brighter Days wm 2

My last card is my first attempt at No Line Watercoloring.  I loved this water coloring technique and will definitely be trying it on other images

Dance wm 1

I only worked with one set for this hop, but I have done this previously with The Open Sea and Thoughtful Branches, if you’d like to see them.

Now you’re off to visit with Wilma‘s blog. I hope you had fun and thanks for stopping by.  See you next month with another technique!

Here’s the full line-up in case you get lost:

These are wonderful cards Kim. I really like the stamp set you used. How did you made the dress in the first card and how is the acetate one made? Can’t wait to read your follow ups for those cards. Last the watercolor would be my favorite pick simply because I love watercolors too……Thank you so much for keeping this blog hop going. I am looking forward to each month and see what everyone is coming up with….:-)
