A Day of Thanks Blog Hop

Welcome to the

As we approach the busy Holiday seasons, let us take a few minutes this weekend to stop and reflect on the things in our life we are thankful for.  We bring you this hop as a way to inspire and encourage you to reach out and say thank you to those who surround you.  This simple gesture can go a long way!  I know I’m thankful for each and every one of you who visits my blog and I’m happy to have yet another opportunity to tell you so.

You should have arrived from Connie Can Crop, which is the first blog in this hop.   This is a one day blog hop, but you have until Sunday to finish hopping and leaving your love for all of these talented crafters.

We have an awesome sponsor for this month!

One lucky winner will win a gift certificate.  Be sure to check out the shop online HERE

What do you need to do to win? Easy… become a follower of each of the fabulous blogs in this hop and leave each of them a comment letting them know what you like best about their projects.  You will have until 10 pm Sunday to finish the hop and leave your comments.  Winners will be announced on Wednesday 11/22/17 at Connie Can Crop.  Be sure to follow everyone and leave a comment along the way!

Now to my projects:

First, a shaped leaf card.  To make this, I traced a leaf from an image from Stampin’ Up’s My Digital Studio.  Converting it to a card was fairly simple.  First, I tilted the image until two leaf tips were level at the bottom allowing the card to stand.  Next, I created a mirror image, making sure the stem and another leaf tip met.  As my final step, I welded them together.  I created an internal offset for the front piece into which I cut the leaf veins and then embossed with the D’Vine Swirls Embossing Folder.

I cut two smaller leaves from patterned paper and wrinkled them before attaching them with the greeting, ribbon and some Eyelet Outlet bling.

Next, another autumn themed thank you with a focus on Copic coloring.  I find coloring like this very relaxing but it does take a long time to finish, so I don’t do it as much as I would like.  I placed it on a mat cut from a Stampin’ Up patterned paper, Well Worn.  Everything is set off nicely with a card base of Night of Navy cardstock.

An Autumn Hello wm 1

This card was so simple to create with a Silhouette store cut file #51471.  I cut it from Real Rust cardstock and popped it on a base of Crumb Cake.  I cut a little tag and leaf from the same two card stocks for an accent and attached it with Linen Thread.  Just like I said; simple…and easy.  Gotta like that, right?

Last, a simple but effective thank you card for any occasion. I typed the “Thank You”, created a slight offset which I welded to the heart and centered on a square card base of Cherry Cobbler card stock.  I cut the letters and backer from Whisper White.  I think I’m going to give this to my cardiologist on Valentine’s Day…I think he’d appreciate it since he did keep my heart beating more than a time or two.

Now, it’s time to hop on over to the talented Holli’s blog.

  10. Beautiful cards Kim. I got to the hop a little late, but wanted to comment anyway. The leaf shaped card is my favorite because of the embellishment. I do like coloring with markers too and yours is gorgeous, but who as the time to do that very often?
