Ready to be Spooked? Beware of the things that go bump in the dark!!
I made my first project using a cut file from Miss Kate Cuttables, Frankenstein. I converted it to a card very easily and I think it works well. Aside from the Basic Black I used for the card base and hair, all other pieces were cut from scrap, for which I’m grateful as my scraps are growing too quickly for the space. I sponged around the edges of the green pieces…yes, I applied make-up to Frankenstein. He was okay with it. I attached the eyes with Action Wobble Springs so each wiggles on its own. Inside the card, I borrowed a quote from Frankenstein, himself. If you’d like to see more pictures, just click on the card and it will take you to the gallery. The same applies to all the cards.
Next up, ZOMBIES! They have gained such popularity of late. So many movies and TV shows featuring them in all their bloody glory. I made this shadow box card using a Carina Gardner cut file purchased in the Silhouette store. I love the dimension of shadow box cards. Sponging around the edges of the green pieces gave it additional dimension. I popped a greeting on the top and then coated it all with Shimmer Spritz, which looks great in person. The final touch is Halloween Night Enamel Dots by Stampin’ Up.
There are two little boys who live down the street and each Halloween they make a special trip to our house so we can see them in costume. They have a whole entourage with their parents and grandparents. This year, I thought we’d do something a little special with their candy and put it in these spooky treat bags, Dracula and Mad Scientist. They may not be old enough to appreciate anything other than the candy, but they were fun to make and I’ll enjoy giving them to the boys.
One more card before you hop to the next blog. I used a cut file from the Silhouette, but changed it up a bit. I decided to employ a little tongue in cheek humor, but you won’t get it unless you see both the front and the inside. So, for those of you who don’t want to travel to the gallery, I’m including pictures of both here.
That’s it for me today except to remind you of our monthly challenge, “What the Hex”. Your project must include hexagons. Other than that, anything goes. You have until October 31st 11:50 pm PST to enter. One winner, picked at random will win a prize by our sponsor, NitWit Collections. The Design Team will also pick our three favorites…that could be you!
Next up is the talented Michelle. I know she has something “monstrously” good for you since I got a sneak peek.
