However you got here, I’m just so happy you’re visiting!  Now, let’s get to the projects I want to share with you today.

In honor of Connie’s birthday, I’ve decided to make cards in several variations of her blog title, 30th Anniversary of Connie’s Sweet 16th Birthday.

First up, a birthday card celebrating her actual age…46.  Still a youngster in my book.  I used an interesting sliding card cut file from the Silhouette Store.  I like that the inside component slides out to reveal the rest of the sentiment and a personal message on the reverse.

And here’s what the inside looks like when you slide it out.  Your personal message would be on the reverse.

I had planned on mailing this card to Connie as well, but I really messed it up and want to share what I did wrong just in case you think of doing the same thing…

Don’t Do This!

I cut the numbers from Red Glimmer Paper, but I wanted a rose-red not a bright red.  So I took out a Riding Hood Red marker and colored the glimmer paper and it was a perfect match for the patterned paper.  So I let it dry overnight and attached it to the white panel the next morning.  Before I knew it, I had Riding Hood Red all over the white panel and my fingers and just about everywhere else.  I pulled the numbers off, dabbed them with a paper towel, printed another panel, scrubbed my hands and tested them on a piece of scrap.  All was well…or so I thought.  When I attached them to the new panel, I managed to get a few more smudges on it.  Argh!

Through the magic of Photoshop, those smudges are no longer there in the pictures.  But in real life, this card is a mess!

Since her hop title refers to her Sweet 16th, I’m including a card that will take her back to that birthday as well!  One thing hasn’t changed in the years since…she’s still sweet!

Connie's Birthday Sweet Sixteen

I made this card using a cut file from the Milestone Collection by The Cutting Cafe.  The designer paper is from the digital kit, Birthday Boogie from Peppermint Creative.  The card stock is Bazzill, but I don’t know which color it is.

And finally, as this is the 30th Anniversary of her 16th birthday, I’m including a card for that as well!  So I’ve got all my bases covered!

Connie's Birthday 30 Years

This card was made with a cut file from the Silhouette Design Store.  It’s a flip card design which is such a  clever card fold.  The designer paper is from the Everyday Kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs.  The “30” is coated with Pearlized Prills as pearls are the gemstone associated with the 30th anniversary…what a mess I made attaching them as well!

So that’s it for me.  You’re off to visit the talented Veronica’s blog next and I’m sure she will have something to delight.  And, again, don’t forget to comment on each blog for a chance to win!  Oh, and stop by Connie’s blog and wish her a happy birthday, if you can.

Connie, Happy Birthday!  I am so fortunate to have met you and look forward to getting to know you better!

Here’s the full line-up for this hop in case you get lost:
